With the advent of cloud, physical layer security is lost and the data has to be migrated to the cloud through N possible methods. N1-OS solves this problem by supporting multiple file systems that were natively written only for traditional siloed data centers while offering:

• Same Security and isolation while protecting your data.
• Advanced journalling capabilities and data protection.

N1-OS has the capability to read/write to any of the enterprise filer storage appliances while offering the same data center flexibility using File system import methods. Cloud has an upward layer path whereas N1-OS continues the cycle forward while minimizing the complexity. 

Cloud layer also replaces several data center protocols such as CIFS, NFS, iSCSI and offers a blob filesystem format which is not flexible enough in terms of the data center use. 

N1-OS preserves these native filesystem protocols and also offers a unified appliance model for reading/writing to several snapshots/backups.
